📒Bookkeeping & Accounting Software Sync

Tally & Accounting Software Integration for Visa Consultants

Get your VisaBOS payment and GST invoice ledger into Tally or any accounting software your bookkeeper already uses. We're describing a real CSV export and import path here, not an official Tally plugin that doesn't exist — honest bookkeeping sync built on the Razorpay payments and GST invoices already live inside VisaBOS.

What It Actually Is

What does "Tally integration" mean for a visa consultancy, honestly?

Most Indian visa and immigration consultancies run two systems side by side: a CRM like VisaBOS for cases, leads, and client payments, and Tally (or a similar accounting package) for the actual books. Fees get collected and invoices get generated inside the CRM, but the accountant still keeps the ledger in Tally — separately, and usually by re-typing every transaction from a printed invoice or a payment screenshot. That is the real, everyday pain point, and it's the one this page is built around. What it is not is a claim that VisaBOS has a published, certified Tally plugin sitting inside Tally's own interface, or a live, automatic two-way sync with Tally Solutions' software. It doesn't. What VisaBOS does have is a structured payment and GST invoice ledger, built on its native GST invoicing and Razorpay payment collection, exportable as CSV — a format Tally can import as ledger data. That's a real, useful capability. We'd rather describe it accurately than dress it up as something it isn't.

Sound Familiar?

What happens when your CRM and your accounting software don't talk to each other?

Manual re-entry, hours of month-end reconciliation, and a bookkeeper working from screenshots instead of structured data.

📒

Fees Collected in the CRM, Books Kept in Tally — Manually, by Hand

A visa consultancy collects fees through VisaBOS via Razorpay and generates GST invoices from the case record, but the accountant still keeps the consultancy's actual books in Tally — a completely separate system. Every payment that lands in VisaBOS has to be re-typed as a Tally voucher by someone, transaction by transaction, because there is no automatic bridge between the two systems today.

🔁

Month-End Reconciliation Between the CRM and the Ledger Takes Hours

At month-end, the accounts team compares what VisaBOS shows as collected against what has actually been entered into Tally, hunting for the payment that was received but never keyed in, or the invoice number that got transposed. This reconciliation work exists purely because the two systems don't talk to each other — not because the underlying numbers are actually wrong.

📤

No Clean, Structured Way to Hand a Bookkeeper the Real Numbers

When it's time to send the month's payment and invoice data to an external accountant or bookkeeper, the options are usually a printed invoice stack, a WhatsApp-forwarded PDF, or a hand-built spreadsheet re-typed from the CRM screen — rather than a structured export the accountant can just import into whatever accounting software they already run.

Feature Deep Dive

What's real, what's roadmap, and what we won't claim

Six things worth knowing about how VisaBOS's payment and invoice data actually reaches Tally or any other accounting software today.

💳

What's Real Today: Native Razorpay Payments and GST Invoicing

The source data this whole page is built on — already live

  • Fees collected through VisaBOS's native Razorpay integration, logged against the case record automatically
  • GST-compliant invoices generated with SAC codes and correct CGST/SGST/IGST splits, covered on our GST invoicing page
  • Every payment and invoice already exists inside VisaBOS as structured data, not a scanned PDF or a WhatsApp message
  • This is the ledger that gets exported for accounting software — nothing here is aspirational
📤

CSV Export of Your Payment & Invoice Ledger

Tally-importable, filterable, available from the starter plan

  • Payment records and GST invoice records exportable as CSV from VisaBOS's data export module
  • Filterable by date range, branch, or status — pull exactly the period your accountant needs
  • CSV is a format Tally (and effectively any accounting software) can import as ledger or voucher data
  • No feature-gating: export is included from the starter plan, not held back as an enterprise add-on
🚫

No Official Tally Plugin, and We're Not Pretending Otherwise

Honest framing over a marketing claim

  • VisaBOS is not a certified Tally partner and does not ship a published plugin inside Tally's interface
  • There is no real-time, automatic two-way sync between VisaBOS and Tally today
  • What exists is export from VisaBOS and import into Tally — a manual bridge, clearly labeled as one
  • We would rather set that expectation correctly than have a consultancy sign up expecting a live plugin on day one
🔗

Built on the Same Foundation as VisaBOS's Roadmap Integrations

A future automated connection would extend, not replace, this

  • VisaBOS already runs a live webhook architecture in production for Meta Ads and Razorpay
  • Open API access is listed on the Enterprise plan roadmap, described on our Zapier and open API integration page
  • Any future automated accounting-software connection would most plausibly build on that same webhook/API foundation
  • That is a roadmap direction today, not a shipped feature — this page won't claim otherwise
🧭

Distinct From GST Invoicing — a Different Stage of the Same Money

Generating the invoice vs. getting the ledger to your books

  • GST invoicing (see our dedicated page) is about correctly billing the client — SAC codes, tax splits, Razorpay link
  • This page is about what happens after that invoice and payment already exist — getting that ledger to Tally
  • Most consultancies need both: correct invoicing at the point of billing, and ledger portability at month-end
  • The two pages are complementary, not overlapping, and are cross-linked for that reason
🛡️

Export Access Governed by the Same Role-Based Permissions

Who can pull financial data out is controlled, not open to everyone

  • Financial export permissions respect the same role-based access control that governs viewing case and payment data
  • A counsellor typically can't export consultancy-wide financials; that's reserved for admin/owner-level roles
  • No separate, parallel permission system just for bookkeeping exports
  • Consultancy owners decide who can hand data to an external accountant and who cannot

This bookkeeping export is a companion to, not a substitute for, GST invoicing (which generates the ledger data in the first place) and our broader data export and backup capability (which the CSV export described here is built on).

Getting Started

From a payment inside VisaBOS to a voucher inside Tally

Three steps, no plugin required — because there isn't one to require.

01

Collect Payments and Generate Invoices Inside VisaBOS as Usual

Fees are collected via the native Razorpay integration and GST invoices are generated from the case record — the same workflow covered on our GST invoicing page. No extra setup needed for this step; it's already how VisaBOS handles billing.

02

Export the Payment & Invoice Ledger as CSV, Filtered by Period

At month-end (or whenever your accountant needs it), export payment and invoice records as CSV from VisaBOS's data export module, filtered to the date range, branch, or status your bookkeeper is working with.

03

Hand the CSV to Your Accountant to Import Into Tally

Your accountant or bookkeeper imports the CSV into Tally the same way they would import any other structured ledger data, closing the gap between what VisaBOS shows as collected and what's recorded in your books — without re-typing every transaction by hand.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what VisaBOS does — and doesn't — offer for Tally and accounting software connectivity.

Does VisaBOS have an official, live Tally integration or plugin?+
No, and we would rather tell you that plainly than let the page title imply something that isn't there. VisaBOS does not have a published Tally plugin, a Tally Solutions partnership, or a real-time two-way sync with Tally today. What VisaBOS does have, and what this page actually describes, is a payment and GST invoice ledger — built on the same Razorpay payment records and GST invoicing already live inside the platform — that can be exported in a structured, Tally-importable CSV format. That is a genuinely useful bookkeeping capability on its own; it just isn't the same thing as a certified plugin sitting inside Tally's own interface, and we're not going to describe it as one.
So how does payment and invoice data actually get from VisaBOS into Tally today?+
The practical path today is export and import, not automatic sync. A consultancy collects fees through VisaBOS's native Razorpay integration and generates GST-compliant invoices from the case record — both of which are covered on our dedicated GST invoicing page. That payment and invoice history is then exportable as CSV from VisaBOS's data export capability, filterable by date range, branch, or status. Tally accepts CSV and XML import for ledger entries and vouchers, so an accountant or bookkeeper can bring that exported ledger into Tally without re-typing every transaction from a printed invoice or a WhatsApp payment screenshot. It is a manual step at the export/import boundary, not a live sync — and we think that distinction matters enough to say clearly rather than blur it.
Is this the same thing as the GST invoicing feature?+
No — they solve different problems and this page is intentionally scoped separately from our GST invoicing page. GST invoicing is about generating the invoice itself: SAC codes, CGST/SGST/IGST splits, Razorpay payment links, and a compliant PDF a client can pay against. This page is about what happens after that invoice and payment already exist inside VisaBOS — getting that same ledger data out to the accounting software (Tally or otherwise) where your books actually get closed each month. A consultancy typically needs both: GST invoicing to bill correctly, and ledger export to keep the accountant's books in sync with what the CRM shows.
What data can be exported for my accountant, and in what format?+
Payment records (amount, date, method, linked case or client, Razorpay reference) and GST invoice records (invoice number, date, client GSTIN where provided, taxable value, CGST/SGST/IGST breakdown) are exportable as CSV from VisaBOS's data export module, filterable by date range so a bookkeeper can pull exactly the period they need — a month, a quarter, or a custom range for GSTR-1 preparation. CSV is a format Tally, Excel, Google Sheets, and effectively every other accounting tool can open or import, which is why we point to CSV rather than promise a proprietary Tally-only file format we don't actually produce.
Will VisaBOS build a real-time, automatic Tally sync in the future?+
It's a reasonable direction, and it would build on infrastructure that already exists — VisaBOS already runs a live webhook architecture for its Meta Ads and Razorpay integrations, and open API access is listed on the Enterprise plan roadmap as described on our Zapier and open API integration page. A future accounting-software connection, whether to Tally or another platform, would most likely be built on that same foundation rather than a one-off Tally-specific plugin. But that is a roadmap direction, not a shipped feature, and we're not going to claim it exists today just because the underlying pieces are moving in that direction. If a live Tally connection is a hard requirement for your consultancy right now, ask us directly for current status before assuming it's available.
Do I need my accountant to change how they work in Tally?+
No. The export/import approach is designed to slot into how a bookkeeper or CA already uses Tally, rather than asking them to learn a new workflow inside VisaBOS. Whoever manages your books pulls the CSV export — either themselves, if they have export access under your role-based permissions, or from a staff member who does — and imports it into Tally the same way they would import any other ledger data. VisaBOS's counsellors keep working inside the CRM as usual; the accountant keeps working inside Tally as usual. The export is the bridge between the two, not a replacement for either.
Which VisaBOS plan includes payment and invoice data export?+
Data export, including payment and invoice records, is a core capability available from the starter plan — it is not gated behind a higher tier, since a consultancy should never have to upgrade specifically to get its own financial records out. GST invoicing and Razorpay payment collection, which generate the underlying data this export draws from, are also included on the plans that carry those modules. Full details on which plan includes which module are on our pricing page and our dedicated data export and backup page.
Is there a free trial that includes this?+
Yes. The 14-day free trial includes the case, payment, and GST invoicing modules along with data export, so a consultancy can run real cases, collect a test payment through Razorpay, generate a GST invoice, and export the resulting ledger as CSV — the same steps an accountant would follow at month-end — before deciding whether to subscribe. Pricing starts at ₹5,000 per month, billed in INR.
