A counsellor can create a task manually at any point on a case, and tasks can also be configured to auto-generate when a case reaches a particular stage — for example, when a case moves into document review, a task can be created automatically and assigned to the counsellor or document specialist responsible for that stage. Which stages trigger which tasks, and who they are assigned to, is configurable per consultancy rather than fixed by VisaBOS.
What happens when a task becomes overdue?+
VisaBOS sends a reminder as a task's due date approaches and flags it as overdue if it passes without being marked complete, notifying the assigned staff member. Overdue tasks also surface on the per-counsellor task list so a manager reviewing workload can see what has slipped without having to ask each counsellor individually.
